It is sometimes said that the prophet Isaiah is an evangelist within the Old Testament. I agree. It is a wonderful book. It is a vision granted to a man of Israel living in the eighth and seventh century B.C. which goes far beyond his own time while being rooted in his time and in the Spirit of prophecy. I plan to keep on writing bits and pieces for this growing blog book. The Lord willing I may be able in some point in the distant future to complete it.
My joy to read this book and hear it and work with it and preach it has never ceased since the time I have discovered it in my teenage years. As I want to share some findings with my students while I am working on it, I have decided to write it as a growing and developing blog book. As I have also students in Asia, I prefer to write it in my English because this language is accessible to them which German is not. Anyone interested in Isaiah or curious about its prophecy is welcome to download it for free from here: A NT Reading of the OT Isaiah.

Die sieben Predigten zu Offenbarung 4-22 wollen einen Überblick und eine Einführung zu dem Teil der Offenbarung geben, über den Jesus in Offb 4,1 sagt: ''Steig herauf, ich will dir zeigen, was nach diesem geschehen soll."
Der Hintergrund dieser Predigtreihe war ein Bibelintensiv-Programm zur Offenbarung vom 24.1. bis zum 26.1.2021 in Bergneustadt auf dem Hackenberg. Es ist online abrufbar von der Webseite der Evangelisch-Freikirchlichen Gemeinde auf dem Hackenberg http://www.efg-hackenberg.de/ und auch durch die Links, die hier unten angegeben sind.

A few years ago, while working as a Bible-Teacher in Pakistan, I was studying the Hebrew text of the book of Proverbs. I realized that it is possible to discern groups of verses belonging together by repetition of certain words or subjects. I got the impression that groups of four verses up to 24 verses belonged together in sections. From the 37 groups I found in Proverbs 10,1-22,16 most often I got groups of six verses (nine times), the runner-up being groups of nine verses (seven times). Here is a pdf-file handout for proverbs with the verses of the sections. The pages six to twenty of the file show the Hebrew text with certain words colored to show the connections within the sections. Proverbs-Handout .
